Cambridge University Clay Pigeon Shooting Club

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

I was privileged to joint the team of Cambridge University shooting coaches based at the Cambridge Gun Club. I have been working with a talented group of ladies who all had varying levels of experience when we first started.

We were working towards getting them up to competition level ready for the Oxford v Cambridge varsity shoot. We worked initially on the fundamentals of good stance, method used, visual pick up & gun hold points, in order to have a good base for shooting going forward.

There was vast improvements across the whole group, with all of them shooting far above the level of their experience.

Unfortunately Oxford pulled out the day before varsity which was disappointing as they had all worked so hard putting in the time to practice but we made the most of the day and split in teams, including the instructors and shot the course, celebrating with food and a few drinks afterwards.

It is now deep in to exam time and although there is the opportunity to shoot at the weekends most are focusing on work. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back and all the new faces in September.
